Free Childcare

Currently available for children aged 3-4 years:

Up to 15 or 30 hours of early education over 38 weeks of the year

All 3 to 4-year-olds in England can get 570 free hours per year, which works out as 15 hours a week for the 38 weeks of the year we are open.

Some 3 to 4-year-olds are eligible for 30 hours free childcare a week.

Reminder for parents:
Three monthly reconfirmation for eligibility

If eligible for free childcare, you must check and confirm your details every three months to ensure you continue to be eligible. You will get email reminders for this.
Reconfirmation can be done through your Government Gateway/Childcare account.

Please share your childcare code with the Pre-School office.

From Apr 2024 – Up to 15 hours for eligible working families in England with a 2-year-old. 
From Sept 2025 – Up to 30 hours for eligible working families in England with a child from 9 months* old up to school age (*reminder, we only take children from 2 years of age).

If you are paying for childcare, you may be eligible for some assistance:

Tax-Free Childcare in the UK is a government initiative designed to support working parents with childcare costs. Eligible parents can open an online account to receive a 20% government contribution on childcare expenses, providing financial relief and making quality childcare more accessible for families balancing work and parenting responsibilities.
