Our boys Harrison and Freddie both attend River pre school. Harrison joined in January 2020 only a few months before COVID hit, we will always remember our lock down Easter eggs that were dropped at our door to make the children smile during an otherwise challenging situation. As soon as we made our first visit to the pre school we knew this is where we wanted our son to go.
We were made very welcome and we felt so comfortable leaving our child in their care. We had a few wobbles at first when dropping Harrison off, but the lovely team settled him in a way that made him feel at home.
Harrison struggled with his speech when he first started and this was noticed by the team who put a plan of action into place for him straight away ie.. one to one time and a referral to a speech therapist. Having that early intervention has definitely made him into the confident little boy he is today. Naturally Freddie followed a year later and although we were familiar with the pre school, we still had the same welcoming introduction and support for him.
Both of our boys are so excited every morning going to nursery and they always come out with a big smile on their faces telling us about their friends. Harrison especially is always talking about the pre school teachers and how much fun he has had. One of the things we really love is the children are taken out to various places such as Kearsney abbey, for a stroll around the village and even over to River Primary school so the children can become familiar with “big school”. Yesterday the children were even taken to see Santa with his snow machine! The pre school also organised a Christmas themed photo shoot recently that the boys absolutely loved and we got some beautiful pictures to treasure.
We can’t wait for the Christmas Carole concert on Thursday and want to thank all the lovely team for their hard work and dedication to each and every child that has the pleasure of attending River Pre-School.
